It's Time to Remember the Magic

“We’re going to Disney World!”, is a phrase synonymous with celebrations and joy. Everyone wants to celebrate life’s wins, joys and celebrations at the happiest place on Earth, Walt Disney World. From Super Bowl wins, to high school graduations and family reunions, people have flocked to experience the magic since the Magic Kingdom opened in October 1971.

The uncertainty in the air, surrounding the COVID 19 pandemic has led us all into the realities of our “new normal”. We have more of an awareness of our hygiene practices ie: washing our hands for 20 seconds, hand sanitizing, cleaning of surfaces and other precautions. We wear masks in public and have socially and physically distanced ourselves from coworkers, friends, family and shared spaces.

Even the happiest place on Earth is not immune to this new normal. Long gone are the days of kissing Mickey Mouse on the nose, or crowding close with friendly strangers to view the fireworks. Does this mean your theme park experience will change and be different from what you have grown accustomed to? Absolutely. Does this mean that your time at Disney will be less magical? Absolutely not!

Here are just some of the reasons why My VIP Tour feels that NOW is still the best time to pack your bags and experience the joy that is Walt Disney World.

Meet Your VIP Guide Before Your Trip

We are so fortunate to have an incredible team of VIP guides. Each VIP guide has an incredible sense of how to make a day in the park even more magical adding special touches here and there with the goal of making sure you end your day having built better memories with your family that will last a lifetime.

Your VIP guide will schedule a FaceTime call with your family prior to your day in the park. This is the perfect time to get to know them a bit, learn more about what to expect during your day with them, and ask any questions you may have.

Our guides will also go over new park protocol and policies with you. This way everyone knows what to expect and eliminates some “fear of the unknown” Especially for the little ones. We understand that wearing masks, and temperature check points can be scary, and we want to eliminate that fear as much as we possibly can. Mickey Mouse just wants to make sure everyone stays safe & healthy!

Your Kids Will Only be This Age Once

The saying “The days are long, but the years are short” is one that resonates with me deeply now that I have children of my own. I swear my children were born, I blinked and now my son is getting ready to start preschool in the fall, and my two year old daughter is chatting up a storm. I wish I could freeze time and soak up every second of this age. They will never be this little again.

No matter if your children are little like mine, or have entered their teen or adult years. They are only going to be this age once, the time is now! Today they may love princesses and revel in the magic of the park, tomorrow they may just be “too cool”.

Yes, the magic is different from what we remember, but watching your children look around in wonder at Cinderella’s Castle, or hearing their screams of excitement on Big Thunder Mountain is magic, with mask or without. Soak this age up while you can.

Spot Characters in Their Element Throughout the Parks

In the timeline of Disney history, designated character meet and greet spots are fairly new. In this scenario, you wait in a line to meet a character, and by the time you have reached your turn, maybe your child is too shy or scared for a picture (I know this one from experience!). For many children, seeing beloved characters up close and personal can often be a little overwhelming.

We anticipate that while these character experiences are temporarily gone, you will still have the opportunity to see your favorite characters walking through the park, giving your little ones the chance to see their favorite characters without having to get too close.

Many characters in the parks already do this. Often, you can see the evil stepsisters from Cinderella and Peter Pan walking through Fantasyland, or Storm Troopers and Rey roaming Galaxy’s Edge. Your little ones may not get their autograph, but the atmosphere of magic and wonder still exists!

Form New Memories to Celebrate the End of Your Quarantine

The majority of us have been in varying states of self-quarantine since the middle of March. My children have maybe been in a car two or three times in the last three months, and believe me, we are all ready for a change of scenery.

With distance learning, mom and dad working from home, not having the ability to spend significant time with friends or family, most everyone is excited for the ability to go have some fun and build more memories together. What better place to do that than Walt Disney World.

View the Parade & Fireworks from the Comfort of Your Room

While Disney has announced that some of the shows and experiences that we have come to know and love and normally draw large crowds have been placed on hold, that does not mean you can no longer experience them.

Parades and fireworks are always magical, however, pushing your way through a crowd, or waiting hours for a prime viewing spot is not. Thankfully, our team at My VIP Tour are creating kits to help you experience the magic from your very own resort room. With popcorn, snacks and a link to view the parade and fireworks, you’ll get to put on your pj’s, watch the shows, and head to bed for Disney dreams. What a great way to end your day!

Will it be different? Of course. Is being in a mask ideal? No, but if I have to wear a mask, I much rather be wearing my mask in front of Cinderella’s Castle than at my local grocery store. It is truly never a bad time to build better memories in the parks with your loved ones. We are so excited to be a part of your magical Disney experience.

About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Kara and I am so excited to help you plan a magical Disney vacation. My love of Disney started during my very first trip there in March of 1994. Disney quickly became my family’s “happy place”. There was never any question, when it was time for a vacation, we packed our bags and headed to the most magical place on on Earth. Nowadays, it is extra special for me to experience the Disney magic again through the eyes of my 4 year old son, Liam, and 2 year old daughter, Jennie. Seeing their eyes light up when Mickey and Minnie pass by and seeing their faces all sticky from Mickey ice cream bars make special memories that only Disney can bring. I can’t wait to help you build those memories together as a family!
